WHAT YOU WILL DO
This is a dynamic role where you'll bring your HR expertise to life, driving meaningful impact across a wide variety of responsibilities. You will engage in full-cycle recruitment, spearhead learning & development initiatives, foster an engaging culture through the planning of employee events, and champion core values. You'll also play a key role in nurturing team member relations, career development planning, and performance management while contributing to an innovative and people-focused HR strategy.
Please note, this is a contract position to cover a maternity leave.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
- Be a Talent Partner Extraordinaire: Collaborate with leaders within assigned client groups to drive talent excellence by coaching them on performance management, career development, and hiring top talent. Help align leadership actions with our core values while ensuring successors are ready to step into key roles and high-potential team members have clear development paths.
- Guide and Support: Be the go-to expert for client group leaders on team member relations and sensitive HR matters, providing thoughtful advice and fostering a positive work environment.
- Empower Learning & Growth: Lead learning and development programs like our Learning Management System, Subject-Matter Expert sessions, training initiatives, job shadowing opportunities, and tracking progress to ensure our team members thrive.
- Recruitment Connoisseur: Own the full-cycle recruitment process, from crafting compelling job postings to onboarding exceptional candidates.
- Cultural Champion: Organize Core Value events, support Employee Resource Groups and the Social Committee, and be a cultural ambassador to foster an inclusive workplace.
- Champion DEI: Support the team in driving initiatives that support diversity, equity, and inclusion across the company, ensuring everyone feels welcome and valued.
- Build the Future: Manage our co-op education program, tuition reimbursement, and MBA support programs to invest in the growth of our people.
- Showcase Success: Craft award nominations and collaborate with Public Relations on social media posts and press releases to celebrate our achievements.
- Communications Expert: Write and deliver impactful company-wide communications, keeping everyone informed and inspired.
- Other General HR Duties: Provide stellar support to team members with timely responses to inquiries, act as a backup for HR system administration, conduct exit interviews, manage assigned budget accounts responsibly, and other HR duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Completion of an undergraduate degree including or in addition to completion of post-secondary education in a human resources related discipline or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in the same or similar positions.
- CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset
- Consulting, influencing and coaching skills
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Results-orientation
- Recruitment experience is required
- Experienced with using applicant tracking and learning management systems
- Advanced knowledge of Canada-wide Employment Standards and other employment-related legislation
- Experience with using social networks
- Strong computer knowledge including MS Office Suite applications
- Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters in a professional manner
- Ability to attend occasional recruitment and networking events in the evenings
