WHAT YOU WILL DO

You'll be the go-to HR partner for an assigned client group to drive talent excellence within the business, leading everything from full-cycle recruitment to talent management and employee relations.  Be a game-changer in diversity, equity & inclusion and corporate social responsibility initiatives, making a real impact on our company culture.  Own the annual performance cycle, helping employees thrive and grow.  Plan and host engaging events that bring our team together and make work more fun!

Please note, this is an 18-month contract position to cover a maternity leave.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Be a Trusted People Partner
•    Coach and advise leaders on performance management, career growth, hiring top talent, and succession planning
•    Champion our core values, ensuring policies and practices align with a people-first culture
•    Support career development, helping team members map out their individual development plans and dream careers
•    Guide leaders through employee relations and sensitive HR matters


Lead the Charge in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
•    Drive company-wide DEI initiatives and Employment Equity & AODA programs
•    Track and analyze DEI impact with engaging dashboards—because progress matters!
•    Support Employee Resource Groups, giving voices a platform


Talent & Performance Growth
•    Own the annual performance review cycle, including training leaders on setting great goals, guiding team members through mid-year and year-end performance reviews, and organizing year-end calibration meetings
•    Spearhead full-cycle recruitment, from job postings to interviews to onboarding new team members


Be the Voice of HR
•    Engage team members with dynamic HR communications, including our weekly newsletter and contributing to monthly town hall presentations
•    Develop unique strategies (e.g. social media) to promote our Company and attract potential candidates 
•    Craft award nominations and collaborate with the Public Relations team on social media and press releases


Create an Unforgettable Culture
•    Plan and host events that bring our team together, such as holiday parties, appreciation events, and DEI speaker sessions
•    Be a cultural ambassador, ensuring our workplace is fun, inclusive, and engaging
•    Own budgeting for specific assigned accounts related to HR initiatives—because big ideas need the right resources
•    Keep our team members informed and supported by providing quick, clear, and helpful answers to their questions- great service makes a great workplace!


Continuous Improvement & Insights
•    Help client group leaders turn engagement survey insights into action to continuously strengthen team culture and make work more rewarding for everyone
•    Conduct exit interviews and provide data-driven insights for ongoing improvement

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

•    Completion of an undergraduate degree including or in addition to completion of post-secondary education in a human resources related discipline or an equivalent combination of experience and education
•    7+ years of relevant and experience in similar positions
•    History of success leading diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives 
•    Proven track record supporting leaders with recruitment and performance management
•    CHRL designation is an asset
•    Consulting, influencing and coaching skills
•    Effective communication and presentation skills
•    Problem-solving skills
•    Results-orientation
•    Experience with using applicant tracking and performance management systems (preferably SuccessFactors)
•    Advanced knowledge of Canada-wide Employment Standards and other employment-related legislation
•    Experience with using social networks
•    Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite applications
•    Capability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters in a professional manner
•    Ability to attend occasional recruitment and networking events in the evenings
