Evaluation Engineer II
The North American Quality Center (NAQC), the quality arm for all of Hyundai Motor Group's North American vehicles, is seeking an Evaluation Engineer II to join the Evaluation Team of the New Model Department.

What You Will Do:
- Test and evaluate Chassis/PT/EL concerns for new vehicle models and provide recommendations for improvement
- Investigate/support testing and evaluation of Chassis/PT/EL quality issues on Hyundai, Genesis, or Kia vehicles responding to requests from Hyundai Motor Group, sales affiliates, vehicle assembly plants, and sudden increases in warranty claims
- Conduct field or on-site investigations to collect subjective and objective data during driving to identify concerns to perform root cause analysis
- Knowledge of Chassis/PT/EL Fundamentals, including NVH, Steering, Ride & Handling, Brakes, EV Systems, ADAS, Infotainment, etc.
- Experience with vehicle sensors (i.e., LiDAR, radar, etc.), motor-driven steering systems, collision avoidance systems, adaptive control, lane departure, tire monitor systems, etc.
- Experience with shop equipment (e.g., tire balancer/charger, lift, etc.) & knowledge of other Chassis/PT/EL engineering test equipment
- Mentor junior engineers on best practices and facilitate learning on the job
- Ability to plan, lead, and provide support in collaboration with other groups/affiliates of test plans for the various quality tests done for new models including Ride & Handling, NVH, Flat Spot Testing, and Hot and Cold weather tests
- Manage schedules and advise outsourced companies to ensure all deliverables are met as per contract
- Engineering analysis and research results for 'lessons learned' on current and future models
- Benchmark competitive vehicles to research differences and improve HMG vehicle systems
- Research, procure, and maintain new technology, tools, and methods for data acquisition or analysis
- Conduct vehicle audits for Hyundai & Kia models during developmental stages and after-vehicle launch
- Create and present technical and weekly reports as assigned
- Perform additional projects as assigned
- Travel up to 40% of the time, both domestically and internationally
What You Will Bring to the Role:
- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
- Have 2-5 years experience in automotive engineering, Chassis/PT/EL experience preferred
- Display excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills
- Able to communicate with various levels of management
- Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Have excellent research and data analysis skills
- Proficient at problem-solving and driving continuous improvement
- Be detail-oriented
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles and practices
- Project management experience preferred
- Valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record
