Validation Manager
The North American Quality Center (NAQC), the quality arm for all of Hyundai Motor Group's North American vehicles, is seeking a Validation Manager for the Validation Team of the New Model Department.

What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with affiliates (i.e., HMNA, KUS, HAC, KCA, HATCI, HMC, HMMA, KaGA, KMX, and suppliers)
- Build a team and maintain the morale of team members
- Assist, review, and coach team members in putting out high-quality work product (reports)
- Mentor engineers on best practices and facilitate learning on the job
- Support and contribute to setting and achieving division KPIs
- Represent the team/NAQC at affiliate governance meeting(s)
- Represent NAQC by attending and participating in affiliate and HKMC Quality meetings
- Maintain relationships with affiliates and suppliers
- Investigate and identify root causes and conditions by translating subjective customer complaints with repeatable objective data & validate countermeasure effectiveness
- Provide support in collaboration with other groups/affiliates of test plans for the various quality tests done for new models including Ride & Handling, NVH, Flat Spot Testing, and Hot and Cold Weather tests
- Perform engineering analysis and research results for 'lessons learned' on current and future models
- Benchmark competitive vehicles to research differences and improve HMG vehicle systems
- Conduct vehicle audits for Hyundai & Kia models during developmental stages and after-vehicle launch
- Support North American local region infotainment audits to identify issues before SOP
- Manage and report on durability programs and implement improvements to enhance results
- Manage IQS/VDS/CR relationships with JD Power and CRDI
- Obtain contracts and maintain a schedule for JD Power and CRDI early evaluation events, such as EPR, CPE, IPE, and early review FSAs
- Communicate/support affiliates and internal IT with quality information to secure information on logging issues for new models
- Day-to-day scheduling activities with technicians to prioritize and ensure completion of tasks
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles and practices
- Travel up to 40% of the time, both domestically and internationally
What You Will Bring to the Role:
- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
- Have 7-10 years experience in automotive engineering, Chassis/PT/EL experience preferred
- 2-5 years managing a team
- OTA update experience desired
- Display excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills
- Able to communicate with various levels of management
- Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Have excellent research and data analysis skills
- Proficient at problem-solving and driving continuous improvement
- Be detail-oriented
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles and practices
- Project management experience preferred
- Valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record
