Sr. Comprehensive Engineer

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a Total Vehicle Evaluation Comprehensive Engineer at our Irvine, California facility.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Evaluate the total performance (Powertrain, Ride & Handling, NVH, Brakes, ADAS, Human Factors, etc.) of Hyundai and Kia prototype, pilot and production vehicles.
• Perform subjective vehicle evaluations, identify potential customer complaint issues, investigate problem root causes, and recommend potential countermeasures.
• Track the development status of Hyundai and Kia prototype and pilot vehicle projects.
• Plan and execute Design Reviews and Ride & Drives of prototype and pilot Hyundai and Kia vehicles.
• Organize and execute benchmarking activities on competitive vehicles.
• Interface regularly with Hyundai and Kia affiliates in North America.
• Perform vehicle evaluations at Hyundai and Kia North American manufacturing plants.
• Summarize media reviews and customer feedback of Hyundai and Kia vehicles.
• Support additional development activities at our Proving Ground in California City, CA
• Support other technical groups as needed.
• Create and present clear and concise technical reports.
• Work in a team environment as well as independently.
• Travel up to 30%, domestically and internationally.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

• Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study
• Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience in the automotive industry
• Thorough understanding of vehicle dynamics, NVH, braking, and powertrain systems
• Good understanding of human factors and ergonomics concepts
• Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Proficiency in planning, executing, and monitoring projects
• Strong analytical skills, data-driven decision-making abilities
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills
• Able to work in a culturally diverse team environment and in harsh climate conditions (Winter -40F, Summer +120F, altitude up to 14,000 ft)
• Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
