EV Testing and Acquisition Intern

What You Will Do:

  • Vehicle Acquisition:
    • Coordinate efforts related to vehicle acquisition for customer/used EV SOH determination
    • Coordinate efforts in customer/used EV acquisition, vehicle delivery to and from HATCI

 

  •  SOH Measurement and Data Analysis:
    • Help troubleshoot high-voltage battery systems and vehicles by using lab and measurement equipment, such as power suppliers, oscilloscopes, Vector CANoe, or CANalyzer, and provide technical feedback to the internal team or suppliers
    • Understand vehicle communication such as CANBUS, flex-ray, etc., and ability to interpret messaging to achieve insight into battery and vehicle operation and correct issues encountered during testing
    • Support work with vehicle data loggers for vehicle test programs by troubleshooting battery internal CAN signals and control units (i.e., BMS, VCMS, MCU, etc.)
    • Setup battery packs for testing on cycling equipment, adhering to safe practices, and setting parameters in cycling and environmental chamber equipment
    • Coordinate efforts for EV MCT dyno testing, including understanding MCT test requirements, test scheduling, and analyzing test results

What You Will Bring to the Role:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering
    • Preferably, junior or senior standing
  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols, such as CAN and LIN 
  • Familiarity with automotive power systems, power distribution, and CAN bus protocol
  • Experience with model-based design tools, such as MATLAB/Simulink
  • Understanding battery cell chemistry, design, battery management principles, and high voltage safety protocols
