Over the Air (OTA) Engineer

  • IDD has R&R for key aspects of OTA for Map and Infotainment modules to Hyundai Kia and Genesis customers
  • The R&R includes full E2E validation for majority of vehicles for HMC
  • IDD works to find, analyze, and close OTA concerns prior to reaching the HMG customers
  • Also, IDD has important role for the OTA release via the Portal(s) and for monitoring the release status for quality and performance
  • This R&R is a high-profile role not only for IDD but also HATCI in general based on the importance of the OTA release. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • As indicated IDD must test, prepare & release S/W packages via portal, and perform monitoring of the release
  • Requires strong communication skills with various global stakeholders: AVP, Tier 1’s, HMC QA, NAQC, Regional Service Quality, Regional Connected Car, KIA/HMA NASO, etc
  • Utilize and build on established processes for all phases of the OTA
  • Ability to run complex test scenarios to find and solve issues prior to OTA release
  • Create new test cases based on requirement and specification modifications
  • Complete validation with multiple vehicles, platforms, and unique modules
  • Good communication skills both written and oral to clearly point out status to IDD Management and stakeholders

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering 
  • 1-3 years of experience in industry
  • Understanding of Infotainment with preference on OTA experience
  • Preferred knowledge of validation & test methodology for OTA & vehicle modules
  • Experience in validation and root cause analysis
