WHAT YOU WILL DO
Budget Leadership & Coordination
- Lead budget coordination for Michigan-based R&D teams, including project, vehicle, and fixed asset budgets
- Partner cross-regionally with California teams to ensure alignment and consistency
- Support annual planning cycles and budget recovery processes
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Review budget submissions and provide feedback to ensure compliance and readiness for leadership approval
- Prepare and present budgets to internal committees
- Conduct monthly budget forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting
- Analyze spending trends, identify execution gaps, and proactively recommend solutions
- Perform ROI analysis for large-scale budgets (300M KRW+)
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison for HQ Finance and collaborate closely with Korea-based stakeholders
- Lead monthly budget performance meetings with Michigan teams; support California team reviews
- Engage underperforming teams to resolve budget execution challenges
Systems, Data & Process Excellence
- Co-manage the budget database, Microsoft 365 Group, and SharePoint environments
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of Michigan data and validate cross-regional data
- Drive continuous improvement of budget processes, reporting standards, and systems
- Train internal teams on budgeting tools, policies, and best practices
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
- 5+ years of experience in budget analysis, financial planning, or engineering related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite (incl. Teams and SharePoint)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Korean language proficiency
Preferred skills:
- Experience in the automotive industry
- Familiarity with Smartsheet or similar tools
- SAP
