Position Summary:

Coordinates, monitors, and performs specialized technical processes and related functions in an automotive manufacturing environment directly related to plant engineering and maintenance activities to meet and exceed company goals and objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Requisition and maintain inventories of spare parts, consumables, and other materials to meet departmental demands.
  • Daily time administration activities including checking for correct schedules, missed punches, and proper code entries.
  • Daily account payables and invoicing working directly with both Purchasing and Finance.
  • Daily processing of Purchase Requests (PR) including checking accuracy of PR information.
  • Gather part information and calculate the required amounts of material for daily, weekly, and monthly needs preventing material shortage.
  • Communicate with vendors to determine lead times, delivery constraints, and pricing.
  • Monitor inventory to maintain needed levels of material while trying to keep inventory at a minimum level.
  • Monitor equipment changes to reduce obsolescence.
  • Determine annual budget needed to maintain materials within common warehouse.
  • Track, gather, and deliver all of Plant Engineering calibration needed tools to the calibration lab.
  • Maintain and update the departmental calibration master database including making GDRs for items needing replacing.
  • Oversee environmental waste created within common.
  • Propose new improvements of assigned area.
  • Coordinate and provide technical training and advice to other Team Members as needed.
  • Support and/or lead continuous improvement activities.
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management
  • System (SMS) requirements.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent desired

Related Experience:

0 – 10 years of job related experience preferred

Skills / Knowledge:

  • MS Word, Excel, Access
  • SAP desired
  • Strong computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong 5S skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Additional Information:

Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
