Position Summary:

Supervise and lead CNC technical specialists in the Engine Engineering areas in an automotive manufacturing environment. Responsible for constant monitoring of safety, quality, and productivity in all machining areas within the Engine plants. Interact with various support groups. Assist in day-to-day production operations and provide technical support daily.

Essential Functions:

  • Initiate and lead activities & projects aligned with the Engine Engineering department’s business goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate strong CNC machining knowledge in programming, machines, tooling, and fixture concepts.
  • Ability to operate in a fast pace, high volume, and flexible machining environment.
  • Lead, train, mentor, encourage, and support Team Members; streamline, improve, and increase efficiency of CNC Application Specialist.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with Team Members and management.
  • Incorporate new methods, processes, and products to drive continuous improvement of engine quality and production utilization.
  • Initiate and complete reports tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and other administrative or reporting tasks as required.
  • Apply statistical methods to analyze and control equipment performance.
  • Provide technical direction/support related to manufacturing (CNC, machine function, tooling, gauging, trouble shooting, and processes).
  • Troubleshoot new and existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes; determine root causes and recommend countermeasures.
  • Control costs within established budgets.
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Field or CNC Machining Technical Discipline or equivalent preferred

Related Experience:

  • 5 – 10 years of job related experience preferred
  • 5 years experience programming and supporting CNC machine.
  • 5 years experience supervising in a CNC or machining environment

Training / Certification:

Technical Certificates preferred:
Fanuc CNC
Siemens CNC

Additional Information:

Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
