Position Summary:

Support New Model/ External Quality Control department goals and objectives by follow up warranty and in-line transmission issues in conjunction with Production Control, Transmission Production, & General Assembly, testing and evaluating transmission and parts related to the assigned systems in an automotive manufacturing environment. Complete issue investigations and provide feedback for transmission design improvements and released Engineering Orders.

Essential Functions:

•  Coordinate and track Engineering Order and Model Change testing activities with related departments.
•  Participate in benchmark activities of competitor vehicles.
•  Gather data, test, and monitor new projects in the prototype stage.
•  Collaborate with Quality Assurance on evaluating new technology at each stage quality improvements.
•  Conduct key Engineering Order trials, testing, and investigating activities.
•  Participate in issue investigation and develop recommended countermeasures.
•  Keep up with the warranty/ inline transmission master list and follow up with pending items
•  Validate countermeasures for quality issues for effectiveness
•  Create and present evaluation activity reports.
•  Analyze both warranty claims and in-line issues and monitor trend for early detection of quality issues and rapid improvements.
•  Constant communication with supplier for pending items to be closed and maintained.
•  Support traveling to Transys GA for communication and audit (2/Wk).
•  Support required business trips.
•  Attend required meetings.
•  Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management
• System (SMS) requirements.
•  Meet all other requirements as assigned.

Education:

 Bachelor’s degree desired

Related Experience:

 0 – 10 years of job related experience desired;  Manufacturing related experience in an engineering discipline preferred ; Experience in Powertrain systems.

Additional Information:

Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
