Position Summary:
Manages the payroll team in an automotive manufacturing environment. Responsible for payroll processes and maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws. Maintains current benchmarking on payroll and timekeeping systems and best practices. Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll processes.
Essential Functions:
- Analyze, prepare, and input payroll data. Verify accuracy of time entry to produce accurate and timely payrolls and maintain payroll processing timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and year end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management bi-weekly, monthly, and as needed.
- Supervise payroll specialists.
- Identify ways to improve efficiencies within the payroll functions and identify best practices for process improvements.
- Assist in development of overall payroll procedures by recommending improvements or changes when deemed necessary for greater efficiency.
- Audit work of all employees on an on-going basis.
- Solve problems concerning payroll, answer inquiries, and enforce policies.
- Provide direction/coordination with HAEA (Hyundai AutoEver America).
- Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
- Meet all other requirements as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent desired
Related Experience:
5 – 10 years of job related experience desired
Training / Certification:
PHR (Professional in Human Resources, or SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) preferred

Additional Information:
Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
