Position Summary:

Oversight of Workers Compensation, medical management and evaluates return to work (RTW) to determine expected duration, absence codes, and analyze disability compensation. Supports Team Members’ Workers Compensation case management with the clinic, outside medical, and Workers Compensation adjusters to ensure timely claim process and medical outcomes are aligned with HMMA policy. Additionally performs data entry of all transactions pertaining to the department budget and supports all BMS related items.

Essential Functions:

  • Process the day-to-day Workers Compensation including oversight for all Team Member absences and expected date of return to work.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate with medical providers, Team Members, and Workers Compensation adjusters to ensure proper handling of cases, timely processing of claims, and closing cases.
  • Gather information and data to assist with safety investigations to summarize injury information for support of causation, diagnosis/treatment, and restrictions.
  • Provide accurate and concise reports to Workers Compensation adjuster and the Legal department as requested.
  • Utilize Safety Software and SAP to document information to facilitate tracking of absences and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) hours.
  • Prepare reports for management regarding Workers Compensation.
  • Participate in medical case review meetings with Legal, Team Relations, and Safety management. Prepare materials, files, and agendas, as well as take and transcribe meeting minutes.
  • Maintain files, schedule appointments, produce correspondence, and support the Safety section with administrative functions.
  • Perform data entry of all transactions pertaining to the department budget.
  • Track and document all Workers Compensation activities for all departments.
  • Support the safety section with all BMS related items.
  • Perform time administration duties for the safety section.
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent desired

Related Experience:

0 - 10 years job related experience preferred

  • Position requires a high level of confidentiality, flexibility, and professionalism as well as the ability to work in a team environment and to interact with all levels of management in a diverse environment.

Additional Information:

Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
