Position Summary:

Responsible for managing Global trade program and select, develop, and manage supply base for production parts and components in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Select, develop and manage supply base for production parts, components, and systems by:
    1. Preparing Requests for Quotation (RFQ) for multi-year full production quantities
    2. Negotiating long term agreements
    3. Maintaining competitive pricing
    4. Leading yearly cost reduction activities
    5. Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance
  • Develop and deploy NAFTA/USMCA/CAFTA program for exported vehicles including regional value content management and developing localization plans.
  • Lead supplier audits on certificate of origin, value of non-originating material documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Plan, implement, supervise custom trade program; C-TPAT, importer security filing, duty drawback, anti-dumping.
  • Research, communicate, and resolve global trade issues on automotive industry and create reports for management.
  • Oversee record keeping related to import/export logistics and compliance in accordance with governmental regulations.
  • Manage communication for global trade process for internal departments, outside consultants, customs brokers, government agencies (USTR, CBP), customers (sales division), and vendors.
  • Identify new procedures and methods to expedite import & export and cost savings plans for the efficient and compliant operation of the purchasing division. Support FTA Manager and supervise FTA & KD team.
  • Formulate and implement yearly commodity and supply base strategy.
  • Work closely with supplier to optimize supplier processes.
  • Explore available technology and implement best practices related to purchasing activities.
  • Evaluate part designs with engineering, quality, and suppliers to obtain optimum efficiencies.
  • Plan, organize, track and disseminate information related to production suppliers.
  • Maintain up-to-date supply base information database.
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred

Related Experience:

5 – 10 years of job related experience preferred

Additional Information:

Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
