Position Summary:
Responsible for performing torque, alignment, balance, and other required audits to ensure vehicle is built to customer specification in an automotive manufacturing environment. Collect & analyze data, reporting results for improvement activity.
Essential Functions:
- Perform specialized audits: Wheel Balance; Alignment, Vehicle Weight, Torque, and Headlamp Aim in a timely manner.
- Collect, analyze, and report audit results on a daily/weekly/monthly basis; identify areas for concern.
- Work with departments to investigate issues to determine root cause and implement countermeasures to improve condition; complete verification audits to confirm issues have been resolved.
- Perform special projects such as durability, ground bolt torque checks, and other projects as requested.
- Update inspection specifications into the inspection criteria based on new Engineering Order (EO) levels or new vehicle production.
- Prepare presentations for management and visiting guests.
- Maintain vehicle testing records, as well as ad hoc reporting.
- Support Durability Drive Program and other special drive programs for new models.
- Maintain the Product Evaluation and Review Lab (PEARL) as a plant “showplace” including cleaning the Lab and maintaining the floor to specified conditions.
- Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System requirements.
- Meet all other requirements as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Related Experience:
0 – 10 years job related experience preferred
Training / Certification:
ASE certified mechanic desired

Additional Information:
Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
