Position Summary:
Responsible for all purchasing management activities to support Procurement and Purchasing Division in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions:
- Work closely with suppliers to optimize supplier processes.
- Maintain up-to-date supplier information database and share best practices related to purchasing data and distribution.
- Monitor supplier business alignment with HMMA and ensure professional operation consistent with corporate vision.
- Ensure suppliers utilizing self-audit, certification, and 3rd party auditors to complete comprehensive assessments of supplier’s business, labor, & EHS
- practices.
- Ensure supplier’s business practices align with HMMA’s Supplier Code of Conduct and timely reporting of discrepancies to management.
- Supervise work of direct reports and effectively communicate with direct reports and supervisors.
- Share policies and procedures with suppliers to ensure efficient and professional business operations consistent with corporate vision.
- Lead and facilitate relevant internal meetings, including making presentations to senior management.
- Oversee the department budget planning, execution, and progress, as well as manage time keeping and attendance for Parts Development & Purchasing
- Management local members.
- Oversee the coordination of the supplier Working Relations Index (WRI) annually with budget approval.
- Provide bilingual services including written translations (including daily, weekly, monthly reports) and interactive translation for verbal conversations and
- meetings; review finished materials for completeness, accuracy, format, and appropriate English or Korean language usage.
- Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management
- System (SMS) requirements.
- Meet all other requirements as assigned
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
Related Experience:
- 5 – 10 years of job related experience with supervisory duties preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible supply chain
- experience desired
- OEM or parts components supplier experience desired
- Long-term planning and strategy development experience desired
Training / Certification:
Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation preferred
Skills / Knowledge:
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
- SAP preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication & interpersonal skills
- Excellent project management, analysis, and organizational skills
- Bilingual – ability to speak, read, and write Korean and English fluently
Additional Information:
- Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
