Position Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of management and supervision of all engine maintenance personnel, processes, and emergency/planned activity and repairs. Lead and support equipment maintenance activities in a 24/7 operating manufacturing environment, including after hours and holidays as needed. Responsible for the safe team performance of all in plant maintenance duties. Promote high work standards and achieve high quality, long lasting equipment repairs. Must be organized to keep track of equipment repairs, plan maintenance activity, and perform improvements.
Essential Functions:
- Promote safe work practices, monitor team safety, ensure equipment is safe and safety devices are functioning, encourage team input to safety, and implement safe work ideas & improvements.
- Provide strong exemplary leadership. Lead with clear goals, empathy, active listening, strategic thinking, and turning information/data into action.
- Support daily cross functional team quality, productivity, safety meetings. Provide technical details of equipment issues, repairs, repair plans, and root cause of failures.
- Provide equipment maintenance expertise and guidance to the teams. Aid and direct troubleshooting PLC/CNC controls, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
- Daily review of equipment issues. Monitor MTTR, MTBF to improve repair times, improve repair quality, and increase reliability of equipment.
- Direct daily tasks with an emphasis on planning of short and long-term maintenance tasks and work. Purchase materials needed for regular maintenance work.
- Collaborate with engineering staff to implement operating procedures, create repair procedures, help resolve equipment issues, and provide technical information.
- Responsible for ensuring all required maintenance, plans, reports, PM/PdM records are maintained, accurate, and on time.
- Research substitute of system components or direct modification of products to improve function & reliability, increase productivity, and reduce cost.
- Control area costs by monitoring overtime, reviewing spare part usage, and eliminating spare part scrap, damage, & waste.
- Provide continuous feedback, as well as updating and modification of Preventive/Predictive maintenance tasks and plans.
- Evaluate individual knowledge and skills; create training plans; teach specialized skills such as troubleshooting, special equipment uses, machining practices, and machine component description.
- Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements. Team Member may be required to handle hazardous wastes which may include identifying, inspecting, packaging, labelling, and moving waste in compliance with RCRA regulations. Relevant training will be provided if assigned these job duties.

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Applied Engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, industrial, mechatronics) or equivalent
- Advanced degree desired
Related Experience:
- 10 – 15 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred
- Experience in engine machining and engine assembly preferred
Training / Certification:
- CNC/PLC Training Certificates from Siemens, Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley preferred
Skills / Knowledge:
- MS Office (Word/Excel/Powerpoint/etc)
- SAP/ERP/CMMS
- Ability to troubleshoot and improve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to modify and troubleshoot PLC and CNC programs
Additional Information:
Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
