Position Summary:
Organizational leader responsible for achieving established company business goals and objectives for Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, and Cost directly related to the assigned operational department in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions:
-The Production Head of Department (HOD) will be responsible for the following personnel groups:
– Process Engineering
– Group/Area/Shift Leaders
– Production Team Members
The HOD will manage and oversee the development and execution of all departmental business functions including:
– Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, and Cost performance
– Development and monitoring, execution of Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
– Management of Operating Expense and Capitol Budgets
– Preparation and Execution of New Model Launch activities
– Compliance with all company policies, procedures, and management systems
The HOD will partner closely with Korean Expatriate leadership to jointly lead and support department, company goals, and cultural expectations.
The role requires building and maintaining positive collaboration with all departments including Quality, Administration, Human Resources, Team Relations, Environmental Health and Safety.
Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements. Team Member may be required to handle hazardous wastes which may include identifying, inspecting, packaging, labelling, and moving waste in compliance with RCRA regulations. Relevant training will be provided if assigned these job duties.

Education:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent required
Advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration desired
Related Experience:
12 – 15 years job related experience preferred

MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
Demonstrated ability to direct, motivate, and lead-by-example through open communication and modeling best practices
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize departmental workloads through effective delegation and follow-up
Proven ability to motivate individuals and teams to achieve high standards of productivity and quality
Additional Information:
Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
