Position Summary:
Responsible for constant monitoring of machine system function. Focus on safety, quality, productivity, utilization, and overall equipment effectiveness. Provide project planning, support, and follow up. Develop and implement controls improvements. Interact and collaborate with all Engine support groups. Provide team support and technical expertise for controls trouble shooting.
Essential Functions:
- Initiate and lead activities and projects aligned with the Engine Engineering department’s business goals and objectives.
- Demonstrate a strong background in general Factory Automation and Engine Plant Equipment specific controls.
- Strong background in PLC programming, control systems, electrical systems, bus systems, communication systems. Knowledge of CNC controls is an asset.
- Lead, train, mentor, encourage, and support Production and Maintenance group. Streamline, improve, and increase efficiency of Controls Engineering section.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with Team Members and Management.
- Review equipment designs for improvement, incorporate new methods, processes, and products to ensure reliable manufacturing equipment.
- New/Retool Equipment projects, participate as controls representative for verifying reliability & compliance in various aspects (e.g. Safety, Quality).
- Initiate and complete reports tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and other administrative or reporting tasks as required.
- Provide technical direction/support on controls related equipment breakdowns, determine root causes and recommend countermeasures.
- Organize and maintain Engine Plant Equipment back-ups (PLC, CNC, Various F/A SW files) and drawings.
- Purchase spare parts, maintain inventory, and control costs within established budgets as needed.
- Develop and procure controls training opportunities for Engine Sub-Division’s support groups and members.
- Familiar with Maintenance Management type software (ERP, CMMS, etc.).
- Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
- Meet all other requirements as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Technical Discipline or equivalent preferred
Related Experience:
- 0 – 10 years job related experience preferred
- 5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment serving in a reliability and controls related technical role.
- 5 years’ experience supervising engineers and maintenance in a highvolume manufacturing environment.
Training / Certification:
Experience and Technical Certificates preferred: Fanuc CNC Siemens CNC & PLC Fanuc Robot Mitsubishi PLC Allen Bradley PLC

Additional Information:
Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
