Position Summary:

Coordinate, monitor, and perform specialized processes/related functions in an automotive manufacturing environment directly related to environmental engineering.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, coordinate, and lead activities aligned with the company goals and objectives as required.
  • Provide technical direction/assistance to identify and troubleshoot problems, propose counter measures/solutions, and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate and monitor all compliance activities and regulatory affairs for air emissions including permitting and compliance with the facility’s Title V and Construction permits. 
  • Gather data, perform calculations, and assist with the preparation of annual reports (e.g., Toxic Release Inventory- SARA 313).
  • Interface with regulatory agencies (local, state, and federal) in the areas of air quality including site inspections.
  • Monitor and coordinate air permit compliance emissions testing.
  • Maintain environmental testing equipment and sampling data from various sources.
  • Coordinate and monitor all compliance activities and regulatory affairs for discharged water including permitting and compliance with the facility’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit and State Indirect Discharge (SID) Permit. 
  • Assist in preparation of the Tier II (SARA 312) report and Toxic Release Inventory (SARA 313) report. 
  • Interface with regulatory agencies (local, state, and federal) in the areas of water quality including site inspections.
  • Monitor and coordinate field collection of water samples and coordinate waste material testing. 
  • Coordinate and monitor all compliance activities and regulatory affairs for solid waste, regulated waste, hazardous waste, recycling and reuse, in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations. 
  • Gather data, perform calculations, and assist the preparation of annual reports (e.g., Toxic Release Inventory-SARA 313 and Hazardous Waste Reports). 
  • Interface with regulatory agencies (local, state, and federal) in all areas of environmental compliance. 
  • Develop and provide technical presentations and prepare reports for management.
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements. Team Member may be required to handle hazardous wastes which may include identifying, inspecting, packaging, labelling, and moving waste in compliance with RCRA regulations. Relevant training will be provided if assigned these job duties.

Position Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or equivalent desired

Related Experience:

0 – 10 years of job related experience preferred

Additional Information:

Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
