Position Summary:

Technical specialist for assigned production area in an automotive manufacturing environment. Job requirements include the analysis and improvement of current production processes and coordination of new model and tooling launches.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as technical expert of assigned areas.
  • Manage vehicle engineering changes and/or tooling launches.
  • Coordinate and lead project activities including engineering change coordination.
  • Analyze and continuously improve performance of assigned area for specification control in regards to Bill of Material (“BOM”), Engineering Order (“EO”) change and coordination.
  • Manage work order creation, HPCS, and assembly line control information to ensure the correct vehicle specification.
  • Participate in Cross Functional Teams and other problem solving teams as directed by senior management.
  • Serve as a technical expert for AM, GL, TL, and Team Members for engineering change, including technical training as required.
  • Continually review technical developments in area of responsibility.
  • Report current projects, progress, and issues to senior management. Prepare presentations and reports as required.
  • Prepare and deliver Effective Point Information (“EPI”) meeting information.
  • Participate in part development, supplier implementation of EO changes where required.
  • Support all aspects of Production Control Specification Control.
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
  • Meet all other requirements as required.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent desired

Related Experience:

0 – 10 years of job related experience preferred

  • SAP preferred

Additional Information:

Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
