Specialist - Quality Assurance (Calibration)

Position Summary:
Responsible for calibration activities in an automotive manufacturing environment. Maintains the Calibration System and Master Gauge Database by performing instrument testing and repair/replacement of gauges, tools, and equipment. Reviews calibration certificates and preventative maintenance records for accuracy and completeness. Schedules calibration and maintenance service with external vendors.
Essential Functions:
. Maintain monthly scheduling of gauges for calibration and ensure completion of all scheduled calibration on time.
. Maintain the Calibration Master Database by entering calibration results and tracking equipment status.
. Schedule calibration and maintenance service with external vendors; Prepare purchase requests and ensure purchase orders are issued on time.
. Identify test parameters and set up calibration equipment per ISO 17025 and International Standard Specifications.
. Interpret data by consulting with engineers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to obtain equipment standards and specifications.
. Ensure that all gauges are identified and tracked in the database; Create and revise equipment specifications as needed.
. Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain gauges.
. Issue non-conformance report requests for gauges that are out of tolerance, missing, damaged, or broken. Follow-up with department representatives.
. Distribute the monthly due lists and non-conformance lists.
. Develop standard calibration procedures and test methods.
. Prepare monthly status reports and reports for specialized gauge calibrations.
. Implement specialized gauging systems for user departments.
. Facilitate on-site vendor calibration visits, shipping of equipment offsite to vendors, and distribution of equipment upon return.
. Provide training and consultation to lab Team Members and internal/external customers.
. Maintain laboratory equipment and 5S.
. Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management
System (SMS) requirements.
. Meet all other requirements as assigned
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
Related Experience:
- 0 – 10 years of job related experience preferred
Skills / Knowledge:
MS Word
MS Excel
MS PowerPoint
Calibration Database Management software experience desired
SAP experience desired
Additional Information:
Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
