WHAT YOU WILL DO
- The Manager, Genesis Warranty Operations leads Genesis warranty policy, operations, systems, and retailer support. This role partners with Hyundai warranty teams and shared resources to leverage scale while ensuring Genesis-specific business needs are met. As the primary Genesis warranty subject matter expert, the position guides policy interpretation, claims administration, warranty performance, and process improvement.
- The role works closely with Genesis Global Headquarters, National and Regional Field Operations, Service, Parts, Marketing, Sales, Quality, and Technology teams to develop warranty policies, procedures, publications, and programs that support business objectives and enhance the Genesis ownership experience. It also serves as the key liaison for warranty communications, reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives between North America, the Field, and Global Headquarters.
- In addition, this position oversees warranty systems, projects, and technology enhancements in partnership with Hyundai AutoEver America and cross-functional stakeholders. The role ensures warranty processes support business needs, regulatory requirements, operational goals, retailer effectiveness, customer experience, and financial performance.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Lead Genesis Warranty Operations strategy, policy, and repair coverage decisions while serving as the principal authority for warranty operations, policy interpretation, and governance.
- Develop, interpret, and govern warranty policies that balance owner satisfaction, retailer support, compliance requirements, and business objectives.
- Drive industry benchmarking and competitive intelligence by evaluating warranty programs, policies, coverage, and operational practices across automotive manufacturers.
- Provide recommendations that strengthen Genesis competitiveness and enhance the customer value proposition.
- Partner with Service, Parts, Sales, Marketing, Product Quality, Finance, Manufacturing, and Retail Operations to support warranty performance and business objectives.
- Evaluate operational challenges, support new program launches, and ensure policy alignment across the organization.
- Oversee warranty systems, including AS400, WebDCS, Warranty Approval Center, and Warranty Technical Center platforms.
- Lead system enhancements, business requirements, policy implementation, automation initiatives, and process improvements.
- Analyze claim trends, repair authorization activity, quality concerns, labor time allowances, and operational performance metrics.
- Develop data-driven recommendations that improve efficiency, cost management, and retailer support.
- Direct resolution of complex warranty inquiries and operational issues affecting retailers, regional teams, fleet operations, ports, manufacturing, and corporate stakeholders.
- Maintain oversight of warranty budgets, records retention, DFU administration, audit readiness, compliance programs, and operational controls.
- Lead warranty-related communication with Genesis Headquarters, providing strategic analysis, claims trends, policy recommendations, and executive-level support.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for warranty policy, systems, administration, claim adjudication, and enterprise-wide warranty operations.
- Exercises independent judgment on warranty coverage decisions, policy interpretation, operational exceptions, and business process recommendations.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Master’s degree a plus.
- Six or more years of experience in an automotive-related environment preferably with warranty background.
- Technical understanding of vehicles or dealership experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Strong analytical background with some financial background.
- Strong computer capability including Excel, Word, QMF capability preferred, AS400 experience preferred, etc.
WHAT HYUNDAI CAN OFFER YOU
- Compensation Range: $91,000 - $130,000 annual base salary
- Monthly Hyundai/Genesis vehicle lease allowance (including insurance and maintenance)
- Holiday Pay - the company shuts down with pay between Christmas and New Years.
