As Senior Counsel – Head of Legal Department, you will report directly to the CEO and play a pivotal leadership role in managing and directing the company’s legal, regulatory, compliance, and litigation functions.

  • Lead and manage the Legal Department, including regulatory compliance, litigation strategy, internal investigations, and legal risk management.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to executive leadership, and business units on complex legal and regulatory issues.
  • Oversee all litigation matters, including strategy, case assessment, outside counsel management, and risk mitigation.
  • Direct legal reviews to ensure ethical and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of systems for compliance reporting, whistleblower hotline monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Manage document retention, legal holds, and e-discovery systems in alignment with company policy and legal standards.
  • Serve as the company’s senior liaison with government agencies, external legal advisors, and regulatory bodies.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school (Top 30% of class preferred).
  • Active license to practice law in Georgia, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  • 10+ years of progressive legal experience, with significant in-house counsel or law firm experience supporting complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing legal teams or departments.
  • Strong background in corporate law, litigation, regulatory compliance, and internal investigations.
  • Experience advising C-level executives and managing external counsel relationships.
  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) certification preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • High ethical standards and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal management software systems.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

  • Position requires flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility
