JOB TITLE
Parts Development Body and Chassis Assistant Manager
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Responsible for purchasing activities relating to cost, quality, delivery, and service for production parts and new model parts development.
• Implement policies and procedures to ensure an efficient and professional operation consistent with corporate vision.
• Track, measure, and improve part related Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Development (QCDD) key performance indicators.
• Monitoring, enhancement, risk resolution of supplier parts quality and delivery.
• Evaluate part design with engineering, quality, and suppliers to obtain optimum efficiencies.
• Plan, organize, track, and disseminate information related to production suppliers.
• Participate in purchasing related internal meetings, including making presentations to senior management.
• Maintain up to date supply base information database.
• Support and rotate within parts development sections as assigned.
• Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
• Meet all other assignments as required.
[Major Responsibilities]
• Select, develop, and manage supply base for production parts, components, and systems by:
- Preparing Requests for Quotation (RFQ) for multi-year full production quantities
- Negotiating long-term agreements
- Maintaining competitive pricing
- Leading yearly cost reduction activities
- Negotiate with supplier for the best material and tooling cost to achieve the vehicle target cost.
• Manage progress of supplier new plant construction and 4M preparation with target date.
• Develop all the commodities with sourced supplier meeting required specification and development timing.
• Manage material logistic from supplier, prevent and resolve disruptions in the flow of parts supply.
• Find the local potential supplier in NA and select the most competitive supplier for HMGMA.
• Write action reports related to effective countermeasures for part quality defects.
• Communicate the results of supplier process audits and propose corrective suggestions.
• Work closely with supplier to optimize supplier processes.
• Lead all quality and delivery in plant containment activities related to supplier part non-conformance.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance or Accounting etc. or related field from accredited university
Training / Certification:
• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation preferred.
Related Experience:
• Minimum 5 years experience in parts development and procurement
• OEM or parts components supplier experience desired
• Long-term planning and strategy development experience desired
Skills / Knowledge:
• MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
• SAP preferred
• Proficient knowledge about automotive component supply chain, quality control and manufacturing processes
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent presentation and reporting skills
• Team player mentality who can work efficiently with minimal supervision
• Bilingual preferred – Ability to read, write, and speak English and Korean fluently
• Domestic / International travel required.
