JOB TITLE
Global Trade Manager
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Global Trade Manager will assist in leading the movement of shipments through the HMGMA supply chain by providing accurate documentation in compliance with US Customs requirements. Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment and delivery of imported, exported, and domestic transported goods. Communicates effectively with vendors, US customs broker, freight forwarder, and transportation carriers to ensure efficient movement of goods across borders.
The Global Trade Manager manages the Global Trade Section and reports to the Head of Department for General Purchasing and Global Trade.
[General Summary]
• Responsible for leading HMGMA’s global trade (such as customs clearance/transportation/FTA) section activities relating to cost, quality, supplier controls and service for HMGMA.
• Recruit and train employees with expatriate, coordinating work directives, performance feedback, and evaluation.
• Cooperate with related departments such as Headquarters, HMNA, and other HMGMA divisions, and external organizations, and support internal communication.
• Attend meetings related to purchasing department and prepare meeting communication.
• Provide leadership and direction to the Global Trade organization. Operates and manages the organization, including employee development and performance evaluation. Strive to improve employee job satisfaction and organizational culture.
• Establish and settle work procedures and processes of global trade
• Responsible for the operation and governmental compliance of the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) and other custom issues.
• Responsible for logistics management, Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism Program (CTPAT), cost design of USMCA, in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Perform annual audit for CTPAT for HMGMA; evaluate all areas of the program for HMGMA and report to Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
• Manage overall duties about FTA (Country of origin of items from/to abroad, USMCA strategy and etc.)
• Coordinate ocean/air/truck transportation from point of import to point of sale/export.
• Arrange expedited transportation (air, trucking) to support and meet HMGMA production plan.
• Monitor, analyze, and report Glovis container utilization rates.
• Support and generate cost saving initiatives for logistics process.
• Create and execute overall global trade strategies.
• Manage supply base either directly or through subordinates for global trade system.
• Manage transportation and customs clearance process of KD parts and general purchasing items.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure process is followed to support HMGMA production plan.
• Confirm and report monthly about global trade fields.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure an efficient and professional operation consistent with cooperate vision.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Minimum:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Extensive knowledge and experience working in US customs clearance and transportation. (FTA/FTZ/ISF/C-TPAT/USMCA/KORUS) department in a related field
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
• US Customs clearance Experience is a must!
• Direct experience with import and export.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products or equivalent applications
• Deep understanding of external market and current trends
• Experiences with customs clearance/transportation required.
Preferred:
• Job related experience in automotive or related industry.
• 7+ Years of Freight Forwarding Experience
• 10+ Years of Supervisory Experience & Experience in Customs Brokerage
• Extensive experience working in procurement department in a related field.
