WHAT YOU WILL DO
- The Assistant Manager, Distribution Planning will assist with the development of Production Forecasts for both domestic and overseas produced vehicles at a detailed level. The forecasted trim mix will have a direct impact on not only HMA sales but also inventory and profitability.
- Will be required to coordinate and facilitate meetings with the domestic and overseas production plants to discuss key topics impacting production orders and forecasting.
- Production volume constraints and requirements notwithstanding, the Assistant Manager must conduct routine analysis of sales trends and apply forecasting methodologies to generate a highly accurate five month sales forecast aimed to increase the velocity of sales while limiting both Port/VPC Stock and obsolescent part inventory at the manufacturing level.
- Assist management in providing the best possible baseline forecast based on data analysis and other collaborative elements that include regional input, marketing considerations, and incentives.
- Work as the interface between HMA Sales and the APS II Advanced Production System.
- Responsible for uploading the forecast order into APSII upon receiving management’s approval.
- Maintain model surrogation by model, package, and color as it relates to forecast planning. In addition to planning and forecasting, the Assistant Manager will also provide assistance with vehicle operations as required by management.
- Responsible for the Vehicle Master System as it relates to ordering, production control, and pricing. The position impacts “mission critical” business processes that directly impact corporate cash flow, dealer relations, and legal compliance. Accuracy, completeness, and understanding the complexity of linked processes is essential to successfully execute this position.
- Responsible for the accuracy of the Vehicle Master System as it pertains to functions such as new model set up, pricing, and production order/control. Through periodic audit and analysis, the Assistant Manager should discover system and data errors and communicate/coordinate with IT for resolution.
- Responsible for generating and maintaining accuracy for Monroney Label, Dealer Invoice, and MSO.
- Responsible for production order. The tracking of vehicle orders, enables HMA management to optimize ground stock availability.
- Support regional staff with vehicle transfers, production orders, and system issues.
- Support management with all Ad Hoc Reports.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- This position supports HMA by provided highly detailed and accurate forecasts and orders for vehicle production/.
Planning responsibilities include:
- Generating Forecasts and Production Orders monthly for assigned models.
- Maintenance of sales forecasting documentation.
- Analysis of Sales Trends.
- Submitting weekly Priority Vehicles to plants.
- Becoming a subject matter expert regarding the APS II system and SAP.
- Generating Regional Orders.
- Support Distribution Planning Manager in preparing, analyzing, and finalizing Month Baseline Forecast and Demand Management on APS II.
- Conduct in-depth forecast reviews to increase accuracy.
- Develop analytical methods and procedures to continually improve forecast accuracy.
- Submit and track monthly production forecast accuracies with actual firm orders submitted.
- Dialogue with HMA counterparts.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned by management that include but are not limited to price testing, manifesting & receiving, order tracking & input, system management, and regional interface.
- Generate monthly vehicle production orders.
- Analyze Production Order Inventory and Back Orders.
- Ensure accuracy of data base and system requirements for vehicles system.
- Dialogue with HMA Internal and External Departments and GLOVIS, MOBIS, and Autoever.
- The authority for this position is limited to the exchange of data, generating forecasts and general support to the Sr. Manager, Distribution Planning.
- The authority for this position is limited to the exchange of data, generating production orders and general support to the Distribution Operations Manager.
- This is a support position, focused on delivering day to day tasks and analyses with a degree of autonomy and receiving general instructions on new assignments.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Must be a high school graduate.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Master’s degree a plus.
- Five or more years of experience with three years in vehicle distribution highly desirable.
- Field, dealer contact experience is also highly desirable.
- Forecasting experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills including proficiency in Excel and Word applications essential.
- Strong query skills and working knowledge of excel and SAP are critical to success.
- Detail oriented, excellent organizational and communication skills. Basic math skills
- Organized individual with strong attention to detail.
- Able to handle multiple responsibilities.
- Good interpersonal skills, oral communication skills and writing skills.
- Self-directed team player.
- Ability to develop and analyze reports.
- Manage competing priorities in a time pressured environment.
WHAT HYUNDAI CAN OFFER YOU
- Compensation Range: $69,300 - $99,000 annual base salary
- Monthly Hyundai/Genesis vehicle lease allowance (including insurance and maintenance)
- Holiday Pay - the company shuts down with pay between Christmas and New Years.
