WHAT YOU WILL DO
- The Assistant Manager, Fleet Distribution & Carflow, is responsible for production ordering, allocation planning, pipeline visibility, and logistics execution for Fleet vehicles. This role ensures optimal throughput, delivery predictability, and efficient movement of vehicles from production through final delivery to the customer.
- The incumbent serves as the primary liaison with Production Planning, Logistics, Ports, and carrier partners to ensure speed, efficiency, and throughput optimization across the end-to-end distribution pipeline. This role exercises operational judgment in allocation strategy, logistics coordination, and performance management to support Fleet delivery commitments and organizational service standards.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Plan and execute Fleet vehicle allocations aligned to forecast demand, balancing volume across ports, regions, and delivery timelines.
- Optimize allocation decisions based on transit time, geographic proximity, carrier availability, and port capacity to maximize throughput efficiency.
- Smooth volume distribution across ports and regions to prevent bottlenecks and ensure balanced workload.
- Conduct pre-allocation audits to identify and resolve data discrepancies, reducing late-stage exceptions.
- Collaborate with Sales, Fleet Operations, and Customer Service to align allocation priorities with delivery commitments.
- Order and monitor the end-to-end VIN lifecycle from production scheduling through final delivery.
- Identify and escalate delays exceeding threshold standards; coordinate corrective actions with Production Planning and Logistics.
- Conduct scenario planning for disruptions (port congestion, rail constraints, weather, carrier capacity).
- Maintain tracking systems and dashboards to provide visibility into performance and risks.
- Coordinate build schedules with Fleet demand forecasts.
- Serve as primary contact with Glovis and port operators to resolve logistics bottlenecks.
- Analyze transit metrics (dwell time, rail and truck transit days) to drive improvements.
- Monitor carrier performance and track key metrics (delivery timing, utilization, on-time %, pipeline aging); prepare reports and recommend improvements.

Track, analyze, and report on distribution performance metrics; prepare reports highlighting trends, risks, and corrective actions.

Establish performance baselines, identify systemic issues, and recommend improvements.

May supervise staff, serve as escalation point, and exercise independent judgment on priorities and solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Must be a high school graduate.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Five or more years of automotive experience, with two years specific to Fleet and/or Distribution.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Exercise independent judgement in a demanding environment with competing priorities.
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
- Knowledge of SAP.

- Compensation Range: $75,400.00 - $104,000.00 annual base salary
