Data Scientist Associate, Vehicle Data & Monetization

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Sr. Associate, Data Scientist, Vehicle Data & Monetization is responsible for conducting analytics in partnership with various business units across the enterprise. The candidate must demonstrate experience in machine learning, statistics, text analytics, and/or predictive modeling.
 

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Execute analytics projects pertaining to vehicle telematics data, vehicle quality, and additional domains as required.
• Pre-process, clean, and analyze large data sets. 
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patterns.
• Develop new input features and construct comprehensive data pipelines for machine learning models.
• Apply machine learning and natural language processing methods to extract insights from unstructured data, including topic detection, keyword extraction, and sentiment analysis.
• Design and optimize machine learning models.
• Prepare thorough documentation outlining methodologies and findings.
• Deliver data and analysis in a clear, succinct manner to facilitate rapid comprehension of results and recommendations by stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal clients by collecting and clarifying requirements, providing regular progress updates, reporting and presenting outcomes.
• Identify critical insights and propose recommendations. 
• Respond to emails, calls, in-person inquiries and requests
• Participate in meetings, capture notes and publish action items, and follow-up on next steps.
• Interface with IT, suppliers, and/or management.
• Escalate issues as needed.
• Other assignments and administrative tasks as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree.
• Master’s degree a plus.
• At least four years of experience with analytics and AI.
• Two plus years of experience building ML models.
• Two plus years of experience with data querying skills using SQL. Able to aggregate, gather and manipulate data.
• Two plus years of experience with Python.
• Two plus years of experience with Hadoop a plus.
• Excellent Microsoft Power point presentation development skills.
• Experience in Tableau and/or Alteryx a plus.
• Sharp analytical, technical, and mathematical / statistical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate with people of various technical and business backgrounds, includes explaining difficult technical concepts in simple terms to business users.
• Works well independently with little to moderate direction and in a team environment.
• Positive and proactive attitude.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Works effectively in a dynamic environment.

WHAT HYUNDAI CAN OFFER YOU

• Compensation Range: $58,800 - $84,000 annual base salary
• Monthly Hyundai/Genesis vehicle lease allowance (including insurance and maintenance)
• Holiday Pay - the company shuts down with pay between Christmas and New Years.
