WHAT YOU WILL DO

This role leads IT strategy and governance across North American subsidiaries, aligning with global HQ while enabling fast, scalable expansion. You’ll collaborate with business to identify the right technologies and lay the groundwork for future innovation. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • IT strategic business planning & progress checking align with HQ direction:
    • Yearly IT planning with RHQ subsidiaries (Canada, Mexico, Alabama plant, HMA in USA).
    • Mid-term IT planning of RHQ.
    • Reporting for HMNA management concerning all IT project, improvement.
    • Collaboration with subsidiaries IT teams to execute IT plan and to check progress
  • Lead planning and tracking of all IT project issue and schedules, establishing milestones and assigning RHQ management direction, identifying dependencies, execute, evaluate annual project reporting.
  • Oversee IT governance activities:
    • Provide strategic justification through the preparation of a business case for each major IT project.
    • Provide clarity between the business strategy and the IT initiatives.
    • Evaluate IT project relative to business objectives.
    • Attain agreement on priorities.
    • Recommend project priority to the management at IT Steering Committee. 
    • Monitor project health and issue based on IT governance rule.
    • Report issues and status to the management with root cause and counter measure.
  • Execute Major IT projects for HMNA and its subsidiaries.
  • Improve current IT structure align with RHQ strategy (Areas: Infrastructure, Middleware, Application, 3rd party solutions, Vendor Management, etc.).
  • Liaises with internal stakeholders – subsidiary IT counterparts – to ensure clear and consistent communication about IT decisions that impact the broader organization.
  • Monitor/present emerging new technologies and partners.
  • Deliver new valuable content for business and end-user experience (new processes based upon new tech, best practices, IT trend, Case study for proof of concept).
  • Learn new technology focused on new business trends (Mobility, Electrification, Connectivity, Autonomous) and create strategic direction from IT perspective.
  • Lead IT Steering Committee meetings and financial planning and budgeting process for HMA and GMA. 
  • Ensure alignment with other HMNA entities with this process.
  • Lead budget planning for the division.
  • Lead the team providing operational support for PR/PO and invoice processing.
  • Own the process of project and financial pre-planning.
  • Propose IT strategies to HMNA CEO & President and Executive Committee.
  • Instruct the IT strategies and direction to HMNA’s subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate with HMNA’s subsidiaries for IT project review.
  • Summarize and report all IT project status for management.
  • Manage review of IT budget with HMNA’s subsidiaries IT.
  • Organize IT workshop with all HMNA subsidiaries.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required
  • Masters degree a plus
  • 10+ years of experience required in IT planning, strategy, or related roles, including product lifecycle execution and implementation
  • Executive presence with outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels
  • Highly analytical, collaborative, and comfortable challenging existing processes to drive innovation
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Strong understanding of technology trends and automotive industry-related technologies and business processes
  • Experience with web development, databases, ERP tools (.NET, Oracle, SAP), analytics, and customer-facing systems like Marketing CRM
  • Strategic and critical thinker with a strong planning mindset and financial acumen
  • Prior experience in the automotive industry is a plus
  • 3+ years specifically in IT strategic planning a plus
  • Master's degree a plus.

WHAT HYUNDAI CAN OFFER YOU

  • Compensation Range: $137,025 - $203,000 annual base salary
  • Monthly Hyundai/Genesis vehicle lease allowance (including insurance and maintenance)
  • Holiday Pay - the company shuts down with pay between Christmas and New Years.
