WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Manager, Advanced Pricing Strategy for Genesis supports the creation and implementation of the future model pricing strategy while managing the development of recommendations of Genesis future lineup. This role conducts competitive analysis/benchmarking to help define future pricing recommendations, and works closely with cross-functional teams across Product Planning, Sales, and Genesis Global HQ.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manage the overall development of vehicle pricing proposals for select future Genesis models.
  • Analyze each Genesis model’s competitive environment and create insightful pricing recommendations.
  • Create price recommendations targeting new ‘whitespace’ for potential future models, identifying optimal position to achieve image, volume, and profit aspirations.
  • Support the pricing leadership team regarding competitive landscape for the mainstream market.
  • Collaborate with Genesis Global Headquarters, North American Product Planning and Finance divisions, as well as U.S. Sales division to understand vehicle package plans, financial goals, and sales objectives for select Genesis models. Incorporate understanding into pricing recommendations.
  • Measure Genesis pricing performance and position relative to each model’s competitive set.
  • Analyze and track current market trends as they relate to vehicle MSRP and transaction price for assigned vehicles. Maintain databases of vehicle pricing to support the development of the pricing business case.
  • Support, through analysis, the negotiation of feature/component value discussions for Genesis. Pulling competitive benchmarks, install rates and syndicated customer research.
  • Manage pricing related consulting engagements, to develop and support the overall Genesis pricing strategy.
  • Analyze and provide recommendation for ad-hoc pricing strategy-related requests
  • Pricing has the authority to access all relevant HMNA cost, product spec, and plans to effectively develop pricing recommendations for executive approval.  Additionally, Pricing is authorized to recommend pricing levels based on supporting analysis of forecasted volume levels, competitive practice, planned incentive spend, margin and revenue requirements, sales efficiency, etc.
  • Collectively, this authority has a direct impact on company/dealer profitability and sales effectiveness. 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Master’s degree a plus.
  • Six or more years of experience, with at least 4 years directly related to quantitative and competitive analyses.
  • Automotive OEM experience preferred.
  • Experience pricing consumer products preferred.
  • Self-starter, ability to navigate an ambiguous product environment to define future model positioning within current product whitespace.
  • Possess an analytical mindset with knowledge of analytical trends, competitive analysis, benchmarking, and an understanding of pricing strategy.
  • Ability to explain complex issues and assess the impact of pricing-based decisions on each Genesis model in relation to the overall lineup and competitive marketplace.
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint.

WHAT HYUNDAI CAN OFFER YOU

  • Compensation Range: $86,800 - $124,000 annual base salary
  • Monthly Hyundai/Genesis vehicle lease allowance (including insurance and maintenance)
  • Holiday Pay - the company shuts down with pay between Christmas and New Years.
