WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • This position is in Hyundai’s general accounting group which supports fixed assets & software accounting and supports the month-end financial close. The position assists with quarterly and annual financial reporting in both IFRS and US GAAP by preparing schedules, footnotes, and other inputs to our consolidated financial statements.
  • As part of the Finance team, the position also interacts with team members and leaders to explain accounting policies, assist with budget tracking, and resolve any concerns raised. 

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Responsible for first level fixed asset & software capitalization criteria review, assignment of fixed asset control numbers for additions, recording transfers, construction in process entries, and reconciling the fixed asset register to the general ledger.
  • Prepare fixed asset reports and support IFRS and US GAAP reporting.
  • Coordinate the annual fixed asset inventory: follow up to ensure custodians fully account for all items and provide reporting to management of missing or inoperable items.
  • Responsible for lease accounting: partner with Facilities department to record the right of use asset and lease liability for all properties with appropriate monthly amortizations and cash tracking.
  • Analyze and coordinate with operating departments to complete operating expense accruals and assist with research on various transactions as required.
  • Provide assistance to the Tax department including fixed asset data compilation for property tax and income tax reporting.
  • Prepare routine and complex account analysis, journals and account reconciliations for assigned accounts: cash accounts, prepaid expenses, accrued interest, tax, insurance amortizations, etc.
  • Provide support for quarterly/annual financial reporting by updating quarterly and annual footnotes to the financial statements. Coordinate with affiliate and subsidiary companies for consolidation data.
  • Support Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR or K-SOX) by submitting various schedules to our external auditors that supports their testing.
  • Create and maintain documentation of desk level procedures.
  • All other ad-hoc assignments.
  • Supports day-to-day tasks and analyses with general supervision.
  • Exercises limited discretion; independent judgment directly related to significant management is not required.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent area of study required.
  • Four or more years of related experience in accounting, finance, the automotive industry, etc.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding and knowledge of general accounting principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Attention to detail and self-audit of work product.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to summarize conclusions in an executive summary format.
  • Knowledge of and able to effectively utilize ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • CPA preferred.

  • Compensation Range: $63,800 - $88,000
