WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Senior Group Manager, Advanced Pricing Strategy (reporting to the Director, Advanced Pricing Strategy and Program Management Office) oversees the development of future and next-generation vehicles across the Hyundai portfolio. The individual plays a key role in shaping Hyundai’s revenue modelling across legacy nameplates, new vehicle whitespace, and software-defined features. The role requires a strong blend of analytical thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and people leadership. The Advanced Pricing Strategy team acts as the U.S. voice of the customer in the development and reporting of future positioning recommendations to U.S. executive team and Hyundai Global Headquarters.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Vehicle Pricing Strategy:
- Lead a dedicated pricing team to create price positioning recommendations for the future Hyundai lineup throughout the product development timeline (typically 1-5 years before product launch).
- Analyze Hyundai’s competitive environment, forecast the target future positioning, and manage the creation insightful pricing recommendations and support documents customized specifically to each model’s unique market circumstances.
- Act as a subject matter expert regarding vehicle pricing and competitive landscape for the mainstream new vehicle market. Be a key driver for innovation to advance pricing initiatives, optimize work efficiency, and enhance analytical capability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Hyundai Product Planning team, Hyundai Global Headquarters, North American Product Directors Office, Finance divisions, in-market Pricing Analytics, etc.) to both communicate future price positioning and to understand vehicle package plans, financial goals, and sales objectives for a holistic future pricing recommendation.
Project Management:
- Lead a cross-functional team of Advanced Pricing and Product Planning to develop cohesive, insightful, and customer focused positioning proposals for each model’s development milestone. Ensure each proposal meets the objectives of the product and model development timeline.
- Serve as the pricing voice in cross-departmental planning sessions, gate reviews, and readiness checkpoints among key stakeholders and C-Suite executives.
Feature Valuation:
- Supervise in the valuation of advanced features and act as U.S. market voice for the ongoing feature valuation to be used across the organization for competitive analysis and price benchmarking activities.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and develop a team of pricing managers and analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Work, in tandem, with the Director to set clear goals, provide mentorship, and oversee the execution of project deliverables.
Governance & Tools:
- Support development and implementation of pricing tools, dashboards, and governance processes.
- Ensure pricing recommendations are well-documented, data-driven, and client-ready for senior leadership presentations.
- Oversee future pricing and project management related consulting engagements.
Pricing has the authority to access all relevant cost, product spec, and plans to effectively develop pricing recommendations for executive approval. Additionally, Pricing is authorized to recommend pricing levels based on supporting analysis of forecasted volume levels, competitive practice, planned incentive spend, margin and revenue requirements, sales efficiency, etc. Collectively, this authority has a direct impact on company/dealer profitability and sales effectiveness. Additionally, Pricing is authorized to input pricing into SAP.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Master’s degree a plus.
- Ten or more years of experience, preferably related to the automotive industry with a focus on quantitative and competitive analyses.
- Automotive OEM experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience desired.
- Experience working well under pressure and completion of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry, competitive landscapes, and an understanding of pricing strategy.
- Ability to explain complex issues and assess the impact of pricing-based decisions on each in model in relation to the overall lineup and competitive marketplace.

- Strong quantitative analytical skills, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint, and ability to grasp new concepts and manage large databases. Familiarity with 3rd party data sets and business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Alteryx, mTab) a plus.
WHAT HYUNDAI CAN OFFER YOU
- Compensation Range: $137,025 - $203,000 annual base salary
- Monthly Hyundai/Genesis vehicle lease allowance (including insurance and maintenance)
- Holiday Pay - the company shuts down with pay between Christmas and New Years.
