WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Senior Group Manager, Dealer Group Management & Strategy, serves as a strategic leader responsible for managing relationships with key Public and Private dealer groups. This role drives initiatives across the groups portfolio to enhance network performance, optimize FBB strategy, and support long-term growth aligned with Hyundai and Genesis’ 2030 Mid-Term Plan (MTP). The position requires high-level collaboration internally/externally, strategic negotiation, and data-driven decision-making to strengthen HMA/GMA’s market influence and dealer network development. 

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Maintain regular contact with senior management of assigned dealer groups to promote corporate initiatives and foster strategic alignment.
  • Collaborate with CEOs/executive leadership of key dealer groups to develop growth & operational strategies across fixed & variable operations, including captive finance optimization.
  • Negotiate operational agreements (Market Action Agreements, Public/Private Company Agreements) to support DND strategy & enhance HMA/GMA’s control & influence in priority markets.
  • Coordinate annual executive-level meetings with Dealer Groups in alignment with PCA requirements, ensuring strategic agenda development, stakeholder engagement, and seamless execution to support corporate objectives and dealer relations.
  • Meet with potential new dealer groups to promote HMA/GMA brand equity and identify/attract high-performing retail organizations into the network.
  • Investor Relations & Network Optimization:
  • Develop and manage executive investor engagement programs to identify/attract high-performing retail organizations and drive ownership consolidation in alignment with FBB strategy.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance and Strategy teams to ensure all dealer agreements accurately reflect expectations, commitments, and obligations.
  • Collaborate with Regional offices & dealer groups to optimize network configurations based on Market Studies, supporting transactions that enhance sales performance & brand representation.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive dealer group performance database, integrating regional insights and financial metrics to monitor compliance and financial health.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports and financial statements to inform executive decision-making and ensure alignment with company standards.
  • Lead ongoing strategic discussions with Dealer Group Executives to assess performance metrics, identify operational gaps, and collaboratively develop tailored improvement plans that drive sustained growth and alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Generate monthly and annual reports and notifications related to Public/Private Company Agreements (PCA), assessing compliance with established PCA requirements.
  • Support DND Steering Committee activities and deliver Executive-Level updates, including presentation development, strategic reporting, and special project execution.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and ad-hoc projects that advance DND priorities, leveraging data-driven insights and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders, providing market intelligence and recommendations that shape national dealer strategy.
  • Proven ability to lead and align cross-functional teams across diverse business units to achieve strategic goals.
  • Skilled in mentoring, coaching, and developing direct reports to enhance performance and career growth.
  • Experienced in managing upward communication and influence with senior-level executives, including SVPs and C-suite leaders, as well as external executives. 
  • Adept at navigating complex organizational structures and driving collaboration across departments.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of building trust and credibility at all levels.
  • Demonstrated success in translating business strategy into actionable team objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Responsible for implementation of long-term network strategy.
  • Approves or rejects dealer enhancement request.
  • Responsible for group dealer performance standards.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related field.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Ten or more years of wholesale automotive experience including five years in positions relating to market analysis and dealer representation planning and placement.
  • Knowledge of business operations and the ability to recognize the dealership locations and management that will maximize the potential sales markets for Hyundai and Genesis.
  • Five or more years of direct automotive field experience.
  • Supervisory experience is required. 
  • Ability to develop productive and effective dealership relationships by nurturing trust and understanding of financial dealer operations.
  • Abiility to access the abilities of potential and current dealers to deliver promised sales success.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate and present proposed business commitment to top executives and committees.

WHAT HYUNDAI CAN OFFER YOU

  • Compensation Range: $137,025 - $203,000 annual base salary
  • Monthly Hyundai/Genesis vehicle lease allowance (including insurance and maintenance)
  • Holiday Pay - the company shuts down with pay between Christmas and New Years.
