WHAT YOU WILL DO
- The primary role of the Sr. Group Manager, Product Director Office (PDO) is to align the company’s product/sales strategies to mid-term profit commitment.
- Monitor performance across entire Hyundai Motor North America (HMNA) or Genesis Motor North America (GMNA) portfolio and make recommendations to maximize profit improve opportunities across model lines.
- Serve as the Voice of Americas SR’s product teams and advise PDO leadership on all product performance matters and manufacturing plants to meet product planning and sales targets.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Lead formulating both short-term and long-term product strategies from consolidated profitability perspectives.
- Support HMNA executive decision-making on profit issues and improvement measures.
- Manage mid-term plan (MTP) forecast of company-wide profitability, aligned with vehicle consolidated operational profit and profit improvement activities committed at each milestone.
- Steer company’s business plan (BP) to align with vehicle consolidated operational profit committed at milestone and model year.
- Monitor any external factors, such as government and regulatory changes, in order to suggest actions with urgency.
- Evaluate market trends, competitor strategies, and technology advancements to uncover growth opportunities.
- Validate business case of advanced products and services.
- Accountable for on-time performance of program milestones.
- Effectively hire, train, motivate, develop, and retain staff. Utilize the diverse talents of direct reports by efficiently managing time, materials and budget while focusing on the goals and vision of the company.
- Product development, price positioning, sales and materials cost management.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Must be a high school graduate.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Master’s degree is a plus.
- Ten or more years of professional experience in automotive manufacturer/distributor with direct product responsibilities (planning, marketing, and/or sales).
- Minimum of five years of supervisory experience is desired.
- Cross-functional team management experience is required.
- Excel, PowerPoint, Word proficiency.
- Good organizational and Data mining skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to simplify complex issues, develop compelling point of view, persuasively make case for change leading to action.
- Outstanding written & verbal presentation skills required for external and Senior Leadership interactions
- Strong automotive technology knowledge.
- Korean as second language is a plus.
WHAT HYUNDAI CAN OFFER YOU
- Compensation Range: $137,025 - $203,000 annual base salary
- Monthly Hyundai/Genesis vehicle lease allowance (including insurance and maintenance)
- Holiday Pay - the company shuts down with pay between Christmas and New Years.
