WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • The purpose of this position is to lead and manage core operational activities within Hyundai Motor North America’s IT financial programs. This role is responsible for overseeing financial and purchasing-related processes, including performance tracking, billing, data flow management, SOW management and financial analysis. The position also manages IT budgets, purchase orders (POs), invoicing, and reconciliation efforts aligned with project budgets and HAEA initiatives.
  • This role supports the division through managing the division’s financial activities through supervision of operational staff, coordination with suppliers, and oversight of back-end process development and reporting.
     

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Lead the review and assessment of budget planning processes across Hyundai’s North American Strategic region operations, identifying improvement opportunities to inform regional strategy.
  • Drive the implementation of budget vs. cost analysis tools and processes across Hyundai’s North America strategic region, ensuring consistency and financial transparency.
  • Govern all aspects of purchase order creation and management for the Division, including compliance with Purchasing Policies and IT Steering Committee requirements, scope reviews, approval workflows, and reporting.
  • Responsible for preparing annual business plans and maintaining annual forecast and expense targets for the division.
  • Develop and standardize IT operations and budget planning frameworks across North America, leveraging best practices from Hyundai affiliate organizations to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain process documentation and deliver purchasing training to Division staff, applying advanced expertise in procurement and financial operations.
  • Oversee the definition, implementation, and maintenance of an automated purchasing management application in collaboration with internal teams and affiliate companies.
  • Oversee and provide direction for billing activities, developing, and implementing process improvement to continue department and division efficiency.
  • Oversee the monthly and year-end preparation of accruals, including interfacing with vendors and Agency Finance/billing to confirm accuracy and resolve problems relating to variance analysis, actual reporting and strategic reviews.
  • To ensure strategic alignment and competitiveness, the position requires staying current with trends and offerings in the automotive OEM market, consumer electronics, and technology investment trends.
  • Monitor and manage capital budgets and PO spending at both departmental and project levels, ensuring fiscal discipline and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Effectively hire, train, motivate, develop, and retain staff.  Utilize the diverse talents of direct reports by efficiently managing time, materials and budget while focusing on the goals and vision of the company.
  • Manage and maintain the DBPCO department budget and purchasing oversight.
  • Escalate issues to management and business partners.
  • Make appropriate decisions in the absence of the senior group manager.
  • Manage business activities and performance of the telematics service providers.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Must have a high school diploma.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Master’s degree a plus.
  • Eight years of experience in a related role is required, including:
    • At least 3 years supporting a department financial planning & analysis or accounting required
    • 3 years of supervisory experience required
    • 3 years of experience developing and maintaining departmental budgets required
  • Experience in purchasing and vendor management, including contract and SOW development is required
  • Direct experience using financial systems is required
  • Experience in the automotive industry a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain IT systems a plus
  • SAP Experience a plus

WHAT HYUNDAI CAN OFFER YOU

  • Compensation Range: $107,800 - $154,000 annual base salary
  • Monthly Hyundai/Genesis vehicle lease allowance (including insurance and maintenance)
  • Holiday Pay - the company shuts down with pay between Christmas and New Years.
