WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead federal tax compliance and reporting, oversee tax system administration, advise on strategic tax planning initiatives, and champion process enhancements through the adoption of modern productivity tools.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Direct the accurate and timely preparation of U.S. federal income tax returns, ensuring full compliance with applicable domestic and international tax provisions, while coordinating closely with affiliates and operating departments to meet all federal reporting deadlines.
- Conduct US federal tax research and maintain currency with respect to US federal tax technical developments and advise management and related stakeholders with respect to the financial and operational impact of new tax laws.
- Act as System Administrator for the various tax specialized software systems utilized by the department such as OneSource and Sage Fixed Assets.
- Prepare responses to data/information requests from Korean parent company and coordinate outsourced US tax reporting for Korean staff on assignments in the US.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the federal tax team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring continuous professional growth.
- Authorize and initiate procurement activities, including purchase orders, NSRs, Logon, and GCSC requests.
- Represent the organization in correspondence with federal and state taxing authorities regarding filings and taxpayer account matters.
- Lead communications and negotiations with external consultants to support tax-related initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Must be a high school graduate.
- Bachelor’s degree, Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Master’s degree a plus.
- Eight or more years of experience of which at least five years of directly related experience in tax.
- Two or more years of supervisory experience desired.
- Financial institution and/or Big 4 CPA experience preferred.
- Proficiency with SAP preferred.
- CPA preferred.
