WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Sr. Group Manager, Sports Marketing & Partnerships will supervise strategy, continued development and implementation of Hyundai Motor America’s Sports Marketing and Sponsorship. This position will lead / facilitate Nationally executed Sports Sponsorships and will also oversee development of Brand guidelines and standards to implement across T2 & T3 Sports sponsorships in US.
The SGM of Sports Marketing & Partnerships ensure partnerships drive positive brand health – increasing brand Awareness, Familiarity, Opinion and Consideration, while also supporting improved dealer traffic.
This position will also support team members in the coordination and execution of corporate events and programs, such as Grand Openings, Ground Breakings, Global Training initiatives as needed, as directed by Director.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Guide the daily operations of Sponsorship & Partnerships Marketing Operations, including agency management, performance measurement support, development of points of view (POVs) for sponsorship opportunities, and coordination and oversight of regional sponsorship activity and best practices.
- Develop, administer, and communicate sponsorship guidelines and best practices to Regional Offices, ensuring consistent execution across markets.
- Lead internal partnership teams and agency partners in managing relationships with national sports partners, including coordination with SGM, Experiential, and Lifestyle Partnerships on activation efforts.
- Review a high volume of sponsorship proposals, develop POVs for prospective opportunities, and manage the full lifecycle of communication with sponsored properties.
- Manage sponsorship budgets, including execution of payment requirements, oversight of partner compliance with contract agreements, and delivery of HMA’s contracted rights and assets.
- Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with HMA’s marketing objectives to drive brand awareness, consideration, and brand perception.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of experiential and partnership marketing initiatives to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and strong execution.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with executive leadership, internal stakeholders, regional management, the national dealer body, and, when appropriate, external audiences and media; ensure timely distribution of executive communications and recaps.
- Support the Director in planning and executing National and Regional Dealer Meetings to ensure alignment with HMA’s strategic priorities.
- Lead and support new events, initiatives, and special projects as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability based on business priorities.
- Manage multiple agencies and vendors by defining roles and responsibilities, setting strategic direction, and ensuring alignment with HMA’s marketing objectives.
- Coach, develop, and manage direct reports, provide guidance on workload and priorities, recognize achievements, and support ongoing professional growth.
- Lead and oversee cross-functional teams, providing clear direction, support, and mentorship to drive successful execution of marketing activities.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Must be a high school graduate.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Master’s degree a plus.
- At least ten years of experience in Marketing or Promotions, preferably with an automotive agency and/or related client-side experience.
- Agency experience a plus.
- Ability to manage in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment, with multiple projects and vendor partners.
- Heavy emphasis on interpersonal relationship skills, analytical skills, written and oral communication skills, and leadership skills.
- Basic computer skills and time management skills.
